Summertime at Merci

Summertime at Merci

If you’ve been to Paris, are planning to go to Paris, or are generally interested in design, clothing, home goods, or artfully made objects, you’re probably familiar with Merci.

This three level store and cafe is a one-stop-shop for some of the world’s best and coolest goods. Located in the northern portion of the Marais neighborhood, it’s a constant on just about every Paris travel guide.

While they frequently re-style their ground floor and have exhibitions integrated into their displays, they went all out this summer. In honor of the 70th birthday of the bikini, Merci transformed their ground level into an immersive swimming pool installation, complete with expertly curated summertime goods, limited edition bikini-themed products and the like.

The swimming pool reminded me of Kristen Martincic’s work, and it was too fun not to share.

Just like shopping in a swimming pool.
