The right coffee set up makes all the difference.
Between our nomadic summer and moving into a tiny (450 sq ft) bungalow down here on the gulf, Kay and simplified and purged a lot of our possessions. In the interest of re-enabling our coffee habit I found the perfect pour-over kit and took it for a test drive this weekend.
The Stagg Kettle (also available in chrome), is the perfect kettle. The gooseneck spout allows for an easy, controlled pour, especially so paired with the counter-weighted handle. The interior thermometer is intuitive and makes the brewing process that much easier. Plus, the elegant design makes it a handsome addition to the kitchen.
Then there's the Joey Mug. Aside from the fact that it's beautiful - white ceramic paired with a polished copper bottom - it's the best mug I've ever used. The double walled ceramic keeps the coffee hot for a very long time (really), while the exterior stays cool to the touch. It's a little weightier than the average coffee cup, but it feels great in your hand. I'm sure we all have too many mugs, mugs we got for free, don't use, etc - so why not purge the clutter, and upgrade to a grown up, highly functional, well designed cup and free up that cupboard space?
When I placed the order from Huckberry, it included a bag of their Friendo Blendo coffee collab with fellow San Fransiscans, Four Barrel Coffee. Equal parts smooth, mellow and smoky, The Friendo Blendo makes an outstanding pour over coffee and breakfast companion.
Whether coffee is an integral part of your day, or an occasional treat, invest in the proper gear for the best cup!
